MEET THE NARWHAL BEHIND IT ALL

First, Why Neon Narwhal?

A cute cartoon narwhal with a pink body and orange horn, swimming in the ocean with small fish nearby.

There’s actually a science based reason for the name. Our brains are wired to filter things out. The Reticular Activating System acts like a bouncer, blocking out most of the noise so we don’t go crazy. That’s why you scroll past dozens of ads a day without remembering a single one.

But when something truly unique breaks through? Your brain takes notice. It sticks.

That’s why I named my business Neon Narwhal Creative.

Because in an ocean of ads, you have to stand out just as much as a neon narwhal would.

Okay, now that that’s established... Meet Heather!

Hi, I’m Heather👋🏻 founder of Neon Narwhal Creative, suburban Atlanta dweller, mom of two amazing kids, and dog-mom to three (yes, three!) goofy pups. I’m also a big believer in mental health, resilience, and the power of finding joy after struggle.

My own story is one of overcoming obstacles and chasing big dreams. I grew up on a sheep farm 🐑 in rural Missouri and, just three days after graduating high school, packed my bags and moved to Los Angeles to break into television. That leap set me on a path of storytelling, creativity, and strategic thinking that I’ve been honing for nearly 20 years.

My Work

I cut my teeth in TV and video production before moving into creative strategy, where I discovered my true love: helping brands connect through emotion. Over the years, I’ve worked extensively in healthcare marketing (hospitals, clinics, specialty providers), but I also light up when working with non-healthcare brands who want to stand out.

One of my proudest projects? Helping transform a local healthcare network into a brand that’s now scaling nationally. But I’ve also loved creating everything from scrappy social campaigns to full brand playbooks for companies across industries.

Beyond Work

When I’m not building campaigns or writing brand strategy, you can usually find me hanging out with my kids, walking my trio of dogs, hiking, painting, playing video games, going to Ren fairs, acting as an unlicensed therapist to my friends, or daydreaming creative projects to take on.

Meet the trio of dogs that keep Heather busy!
